Thursday 16th January
A social ride on Route 6 between Hucknall and Vicar Water but also to review the state of signage.
Meet at 10am at Ravenshead (at the Spar car park off Milton Drive NG15 9BD). It is intended to ride to Vicar Water (have refreshments) and back to Ravenshead and, if time permits, carry on to Newstead Abbey (coffee?) and on to Hucknall and back.
Thursday 30th January
Meet at Straws Bridge at 10am. Jeff has proposed a route of about 32 miles. Briefly this involves travelling down the Nutbrook trail to Stanton Gate, a shortcut across to the Nottingham canal and then following a modified Erewash Valley Trail route to Trent Lock. The route continues in a westerly direction following the River Trent to Sawley Marina and eventually crosses over Trent on the replacement "Longhorse Bridge" to Shardlow and then to Elvaston, Borrowash and then follows the Derby Canal path to Sandiacre Lock and hence the Nutbrook trail back to the start.
Refreshments can be had along the way either at the Attenborough Nature Reserve cafe or at Trent Lock.
I'll try to get along to the 30 Jan ride, if I may. I would then probably meet you all at Trent Lock, having taken the train from Matlock to LE.
