Maldwyn, new volunteer Richard and I set off from Straw's Bridge this morning intending to complete the task of litter picking on the Nutbrook Trail. On our last outing we got to Sandiacre and today we were determined to reach Asda. Our plans were scuppered by the amount of overhanging and protruding vegetation along some sections. Litter may be unsightly but we thought that lopping should take priority today. We got as far as the Mill Lane footbridge at Sandiacre.
We did mange to finish the job of attaching the new signs to the mileposts. We sincerely hope that when someone phones the police saying they are at point 6 on the trail that the police will know where they mean!
There was one branch we could not lop - a saw is necessary for this particularly dangerous protrusion. The branch had been cut back, but left at a cyclist's head height, and it was not very visible. We tied a plastic bag around it to make more obvious. I have reported it to the Canal & River Trust.

From someone who walks this section twice daily to get to work: thank you!
