Report on the last of the Autumn series workdays on the Nutbrook Trail/NCR67.
Tuesday 27th January saw Jeff, Richard, Maldwyn and Stuart meet up at Sandiacre for the final push towards Long Eaton. The day was cool and overcast but was otherwise ideal for a workday. The hedges at the side of the towpath had recently been "slashed" so our workday could concentrate on litter picking. The litter, thankfully, was relatively light with the worst stretch, by far, being the last 50 metres or so of the trail just before Asda at Long Eaton. It was here that we came across the two Sustrans contract workers who do the hedge and tree clipping along the Trail. Earlier than anticipated, we had our celebratory hot drink in the cafe at Asda. Thank you to everyone who have helped on the this series of workdays. We will start again shortly - watch this space.
