Tony Allcock and I went to this event yesterday, Tues 8 June, with the leaflets, posters and maps that we hold in common with the Derby group, plus a Sustrans promotional PowerPoint slideshow and the Derby group's marvellous display boards. Students came from the Long Eaton School as well as from another secondary school in Sheffield and several local primaries. There was a lot of enthusiasm from the kids, a very high percentage of whom cycle to school on a regular basis. LE School is one of only five in the UK which have 'Eco-school' status. Sharing the marquee with us were Choose Cycling, the Nottinghamshire Beekeepers, Pride in Erewash, Long Eaton Natural History Society, a guy with a variety of species of exotic creepy-crawlies and many, many more. A very successful day.
Good job you managed to catch up with Alan or you would have been down to bare boards. Glad it went well.
