Derbyshire Active Travel Challenge
Follow this link http://www.activetravelchallenge.org.uk/ or click on the title of this post above and find out about this year's Active Travel Challenge, organized by the charity Choose Cycling. I took part last year as an individual member and clocked up a reasonable mileage, walking and cycling in France during July and August. It was great fun but my total distance didn't compare with that done by teams. This year I have set up a team which will compete against other organizations from Derbyshire. We are the Erewash Valley Group within the organization Sustrans Volunteer Rangers. Make sure when you register that you state the team name, please. Then every time you do more than 10 minute’s exercise, walking, jogging or cycling, you can log the miles and the times on the Active Travel Challenge website. You can start doing this now, just to get the habit, but the contest proper doesn’t start until 5 September. You can also link your achievements to Facebook. Don’t let the side down now! Good luck!
