Report of Nutbrook Trail Workday 30th June 2015

Just the two of us (Jeff and Stuart) turned up for the Workday. We started working southwards down the Trail from the northern end where it meets Thorpes road. It was a gloriously sunny day, probably the warmest Workday we have ever had. Another, unexpected, bonus was that the stretch of trail between Thorpes Road and The Field Shipley, normally one of the worst for litter, was surprising "litter light" with only one bag of rubbish collected between the two of us. We left this at The Field to be collected by the Shipley Park Rangers.
It was still not yet 11am so we pressed on south. Where the trail passes to the west side of Shipley Lake (formerly Shipley Reservoir), the encroaching vegetation either side of the Trail required us to bring our Shears and Loppers into play and this was also the case at Manner floods. We finished the Workday at Straws Bridge with another bag of rubbish. The next workday will start at Straws Bridge and continue southwards to Stanton - watch this space.
