Jeff, Richard, Jan and Stuart met at Straws Bridge car park Ilkeston and then made our way southwards along the Trail - our task as usual being a litterpick and the trim back of any vegetation overhanging the Trail. With respect to the latter task, our job was made easier by the two Sustrans contract workers who were in the process of cutting the verges at the side of the Trail. The litter was generally light and we made good progress, reaching Pastures Lock on the Erewash Canal at about midday when the onset of another rain flurry decided us to call it a day.
