Bell Lane, which runs from Smalley into Shipley Park, is being resurfaced at the expense of UK Coal, who are just finishing off the restoration of the Shipley West opencast site. The work has been completed between the park and Smalley Lodge. All that remains is the section to the A608 in Smalley. This lane is closed to traffic between the lodge and the park, so this is being done for the benefit of walkers, horse riders and cyclists!
