New alignment of Route 67 at Long Eaton
When complete, National Route 67 will cover quite a distance, extending from North Yorkshire down to Leicestershire, the Nutbrook Trail being part of this. Until yesterday current signage for Route 67 would have taken you from the Erewash Canal towpath at Dockholme Lock, on the levée parallel to the towpath, then away from the canal to Long Eaton Asda. This last section no longer counts as NCR67; instead, Route 67 rejoins the towpath after the levée, as far as Lawrence St, turns left into Lawrence St, right into Milner Rd, up to Broad St and the footbridge into West Park, where it meets Route 6. Stuart, Tony Allcock and I met rather hastily on Wednesday and made the alterations in signing to reflect this changed alignment. The route south of here is still to be decided and therefore no further signing can be done at present.

Thanks for that Clyde. I like the historic piece of ironwork to the left on the penultimate picture. Perhaps this should be put forward for a grade one listing.
