This award was mentioned in the Spring 2010 edition of the Movement and originally the results were to be announced this autumn. However, I have heard that this has been shelved until next spring. The Nutbrook Trail has been entered in the competition, and we did a little fine-tuning of the signing earlier this year, adding a few place-names with arrows. Because of the stay of execution, we now have time to improve the signing yet further. John Brierley did some signing in August: more places with mileages. Recently I discovered instances of vandalized signage (self-adhesive patches removed, rigid plastic signs broken, etc) and these will need to be made good, but also the time has come to do more fine-tuning: town centers, schools, hospitals, leisure centers, bike shops, pubs(?) all with distances. Watch this blog for details of planning meetings and workdays. In the meantime, give some thought to what you think should be signed, please, and add your suggestions below.
Kay tells me that the Linby Trail also needs some TLC.
