Greater Nottingham Aligned Core Strategies Option for Consultation

Erewash Borough, as one of the authorities forming what is known as ‘Greater Nottingham’, has been giving the public over the last few weeks the opportunity of commenting on its plans to develop this major center of population over the next 20 years. It covers: housing; employment; shopping, leisure and culture; transport; changes to the green belt ; parks; health; sport and tourism. If you wish to know more about these developments, click on this link

Then click on 'Supporting Documents' at the bottom and you will find the titles of 8 documents: 3 pdf files and 5 Word docs. The first Word doc will tell you where in Erewash Borough (libraries and town halls) you can read the main document describing the proposals; the next tells you the ‘Story So Far’; the first pdf file is the main (very long) document with all the details (so you can therefore read it on line instead of visiting your local library); the third pdf is an 8-page summary of the main doc and probably the best place to start. There were some presentations throughout the borough but these are all finished now.
Alternatively, 'Read and Comment on Document' also allows you to view the full text of the main doc - but a page at a time.

Cycling gets mentions under ‘transport’ in a few places, but never with much detail. We have the opportunity to remedy this and make our opinions known to the local authorities, but only until 12 April 2010 to do it! I'm in France at the moment but still trying to put something together to send to EBC. If you have any thoughts that you'd like to be included, please let me have them (you can add them as comments below or email me on clydehinton@talktalk.net) Thanks.
