Organized in conjunction with the Chain Gang cycling and sailing group, and to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the National Cycle Network, there will be a ride on the Erewash Valley Trail on Wed 15 Sep, starting at Langley Mill at 17:00.
This will be a circular ride, starting and ending at Langley Mill on the Notts/Derbys border.
We will meet in the car park of the Great Northern pub on the A608. Meet here at 16:45 to register. We leave at 17:00 prompt.
The ride is 15 miles long and should be appropriate for all cyclists, especially for families. Everybody is welcome! It is on traffic free routes.
We will ride the Nottingham Canal footpath as far as Cossall and then cross the railway line on a footbridge to Potter’s Lock, continuing southwards on the Erewash Valley Trail/Nutbrook Trail as far as Long Eaton. From there we will return to Potter’s Lock and continue on the Erewash Canal towpath back to the Great Northern for a pint and food if anyone wants it.
