Yesterday 6 brave stalwarts braved the weather (actually not really bad at all) and did a pioneering ride to investigate potential routes between NT and route 6 north of Hucknall. The brave six - Kay, Chris, Clyde, Jeff, Maldwyn and Stuart - started out from shipley park visitors centre and rode to Newstead Abbey via Eastwood, Moorgreen, Annersley and Newstead village. After refreshments at the Abbey the return journey took in the Linby trail to Hucknall and then on to Moorgreen via Beauvale priory and back to Shipley. The total distance of the round trip was approx 29 miles. Both routes were generally off road and scenic except for short stretches through Eastwood, Hucknall and Cotmanhay and everyone enjoy
ed the day out.
