On the last Workday (Oct 9th), Jeff , Maldwyn and I carried out a litter pick from the Thorpes road end of the NT to Straws Bridge. The amount of litter was generally lower than usual especially at the Thorpes road end where the trail backs on to the industrial units. Whether these businesses have had a culture change or not only time will tell.
The next Workday is Wednesday November 6th when it is intended to continue working our way further south along the NT. Meet at Straws Bridge car park at 10 am.
The main job will be litter picking but there may be some trimming of overhanging branches and brambles required, particularly along the Erewash canal, and also sign maintenance as necessary. So bring litter pickers and shears or loppers if you have them - bags will be provided.
