Towpath improvements on the Nutbrook Trail

These are views of work that is being done on the Erewash Canal towpath at Sandiacre. Pictures were taken last Friday, 5 March. The completed tarmacking in the top picture stretches southwards from Sandiacre Bridge as far as the A52 bridge and block paving is being laid at the access point from the town center. In the northerly direction, the towpath surface is being prepared for tarmacking (I imagine the stretch you see here will be finished some time this week) and the final picture shows the continuation of this stretch northwards from Mill Lane bridge, but clearly not as far advanced. The towpath is obviously closed in this area at the present time but there are maps showing diversions. There are similar works going on at Long Eaton and near Awsworth Rd, Ilkeston.
